10 Cold Email Templates to Crush Your Sales

Cold email calling can often be a disappointing experience when you first start out. You may send a thousand emails but only get five responses. However, there are ways you can increase your emails’ open and engagement rates.

Creating personalized email is one way you can improve your recipient’s interest and ensure higher profitability for your organization.

1. Sales Introduction Template

If you are reaching out to a prospect for the first time, you need to generate their interest. You can do this by mentioning your goals and adding something that will pique the reader’s interest. A sales introduction template can look like:

Hi (name of the recipient),

I looked at your website and I can see that you are trying to (achieve something). I believe that we can form a partnership to our mutual benefit that can play an important role in your success. If you haven’t heard of our company before, we offer businesses with three main goals.

Goal 1 Goal 2 Goal 3

Are you available for a call/ meeting in the next couple of days so that we may discuss (the strategy) for your company?

2. Point of Contact Template

Most people are geared towards helping others. So if you send out an email asking for a small favor, chances are that you will get a reply. If you are looking for a specific person, your recipient can help redirect your mail to the right person.

A point of contact template can look something like:

Hi (Name),

I am trying to contact a person who supervises (job function) in your organization. I work with (your organization name), where we have helped numerous companies improve their performance by (add percentage numbers)%.

I would be very grateful if you could help me get in touch with the right person. Thanks for your time.

3. Insight on Marketing Research Template

This template should show that you have done your research when it comes to the other company and are truly interested in working with them. It should also show that you have something useful for the prospect.

Hi (Name), Your most recent financial report shows excellent growth, which is particularly impressive for a new company in a high-competition market.

Fast-growing companies like yourself have considerable focus on (use case). Our company has market research data that shows how various organizations allocate their resources in order to improve their process.

4. Trigger Event Template

A trigger event is a good enough reason to reach out and boost your organization’s credibility by showing you pay attention to what is happening in the industry and to create a sense of urgency.

Hi (name),

Your (company being awarded, new LinkedIn profile, etc.) inspired me to reach out to you. Staffing firms like (Firm A, Firm B, and Firms C) use (product) to (accomplish goals).

Within (number of months) working with our (product), clients saw an increase of (percentage number)%. I would be happy to share how your company can achieve the same.

5. Research Participation Template

One important outreach template is where you request a prospect to participate in a research study or survey. You can also ask for their opinion on a subject, if the prospect is an expert.

Can we interest you in participating in (topic) survey? It will not take more than a couple of minutes and we will appreciate your response.

As soon as we hit 100 responses, we will share the results of the survey/ research report exclusively with you.

6. Request an Opinion Email Template

People love to give their opinions, particularly on subjects they know well. It is a good idea to send these people an email to get their opinion and inform them that their responses will be featured. Make sure you only ask concrete questions about the subject.

Hi (Name),

Your department is crucial to the success of your organization.

We, at (company name), have conducted a survey asking consumers what they think about (topic). The most common response we saw was that the person the consumer interacted with was not informed enough.

Do you believe that consumers today are more aware of the products than salespeople? Do you think that retraining your team will help improve customer satisfaction? Do let me know.

7. Introduction Template

You can also introduce someone else to your prospect. You can help your prospect by connecting them with a person or business that can help them out. This will help you create a good relationship with the prospect as well as the party you connected them to.

You posted a request on (social media page/ forum) asking to be introduced to someone who can help you with (service/ product). I know some experts in the field who may be able to help you out. Would you care for an email introduction?

8. Request for Advice Template

People also like to give out advice when asked. A request for advice shows humility and appeals to the prospect’s ego. Here is an example of a good template.

Hi (Name),

I chanced across your (LinkedIn, Facebook/ business) profile and was excited to know that you have been working in (area of expertise) for (a number of) years. You must have seen a lot of advancements in the industry during that time period.

I am a new entrant and am working on a product right now. If I share some of my market research with you, will you be willing to give me some advice on how to proceed?

9. Collaboration Template

Collaboration templates are often well-received by prospects. You can tell them that you will put the name of the prospect in your publications and give them extra exposure. You can request your prospects to contribute to an article you want to put or ask for a quote to be put in the blog.

I am truly impressed by your career advancement in such a short time. I believe that your journey to success can help a number of people working in the (department) gain inspiration.

I am currently writing on the (subject) and I would sincerely appreciate it if you could contribute to my article. Let me know whether you are interested.

10. Offer to Help In Mission Template

If you want to cold email C-suite level executes, it is a good idea to try this template. Your idea should be to offer them something that will help them in their mission. These executives are responsible for where the company will go and they will listen to your pitch if it is helpful.

Hi (Name), I have been following you on (social media/ LinkedIn) and I think you take your role in (company/department) to heart.

I am a big fan of yours and wanted to know if I could help you to achieve your mission and get (results).
