Choose your situation
Launch your first outreach campaign
Three ways to run outreach, three different setups. The one you pick decides your start date as much as your results.
Email, for volume
This is the channel that scales. Nothing stops you from sending a thousand emails a day by spreading them across several mailboxes, where no other outreach channel lets you do it.
The price you pay is the delay before you start. You have to buy a domain, set up authentication, create the mailboxes and warm them up for two to three weeks before the first real message goes out. Nobody can shorten that period, and anyone who claims otherwise is selling you a burnt domain reputation.
LinkedIn, for the reply rate
Reply rates are better there than in email, and you are up and running immediately: no domain to buy, no DNS to configure, no warm-up. You connect your account and you start the same day.
The trade-off is the ceiling. We recommend twenty connection requests a day on a free account, forty at most with a Premium or Sales Navigator subscription. Over a month, that is barely what a single mailbox sends in two days. A better rate applied to twenty times fewer contacts produces fewer meetings in absolute terms.
Multichannel, when your data is incomplete
A single campaign that chains the two together, with conditions: you test whether the email address or the LinkedIn profile is there, and each contact goes down the branch that fits. It is the best answer to a file where you have the email for some people and the LinkedIn profile for others.
But it is not the answer to everything. At high volume, the slowness of LinkedIn holds back the whole sequence: two separate campaigns are the better call then. Multichannel is made for consistent lists of moderate size.
Where to start
If you are still hesitating, the question to ask is not “which channel works best” but “what do I have in my file”. Everyone’s email points you to email, everyone’s LinkedIn profile points you to LinkedIn, a mix of the two points you to multichannel.
In Emelia you do not pick a campaign type up front: the same builder handles everything, and the sequence you build is what makes a campaign email, LinkedIn or multichannel. So you can start simple and add a channel later in a new campaign, without learning anything new.
