5 options you may not have seen on the Emelia platform

Hello cold-mailers!

The goal when we created Emelia was to have a very simple UX (apparently it succeeded since you tell us so often 😌) to allow you to set-up and launch your campaigns very quickly.

Obviously with time we added some interesting features (for those who want to go further, be creative sometimes, in their cold-mailing sequences in B2B) but which are (a little) hidden so as not to confuse the setup of those who want to make simple, basic campaigns. In this article I will make you discover these small features

1. Send a part of your sequence via another sender

In each step, on the right of your mail editor you have a button "Option Step X". In these options you can set a different sending email address than the one put above in your campaign settings. What's the use? To create an atypical scenario, for example:

Step 1: A sales person contacts the prospect Step 2: Follow up with the same person Step 3: Head of sales provides additional information, with an excuse to take over. This is an example to give you some ideas, and if you do it, the following will also be of interest to you and will be necessary!

2. Delete previous mail history

Another option hidden in the options on the right of the editor, you can choose to uncheck the box "Show previous email history" so that your email is not seen by your prospect as a continuation (as a Re:) of the previous message but as a new message Be careful to: Write a subject in this email, if you don't put one then the subject will still be a Re: but just without the history If you apply the strategy of the different sender in part 1 of this article, then remember to apply this deletion of the history (although it is possible that a different sender takes the history of his colleague, but it's up to you!)

3. Bounce pooling

It's "native" in Emelia, when you import a list of contacts in your campaign, we automatically delete the contacts whose email addresses we know you bounce. Since we "mutualize" the bounces, this means that if another Emelia user has already sent a mail to this address and we have had it in hard bounce then we automatically remove it and this preserves the health of your mail address, your IP, and your domain, since we avoid you bounces. So we advise you to leave this box checked, no reason to uncheck it, but we wanted to mention it here in case this option is very important and also because this is the reason why sometimes you import 512 contacts but after the import you only see 508 for example, so you know why!

4. Choose specific times for a step

If you went and took a look at the options for each step, thanks to part 1 and 2 of this article then you also saw that you can choose the specific time and/or days for a step. For various reasons in your different strategies you may want one of your steps to be sent for example on Fridays between 3 and 5 pm with a mention in your message about the approaching weekend (this is really just an example eh! Because a message on a Friday at the end of the day is not a great strategy! ).

5. Sequence chaining

This isn't an option and it's not directly in Emelia, but if you're on this article then you might as well take the opportunity to show you a really cool thing you can do with Emelia coupled with Zapier, Integromat or n8n. If you're a little familiar with automation on these platforms then you're probably already using many of the features available, like sending clicked leads to your CRM, or issuing a message in Slack when a lead responds to you. Or in the other direction, sending in an Emelia campaign from an action done beforehand on your site, on one of your typeforms etc.. In short, everyone can use the automations as they wish and the possibilities are numerous! You may have already used the automations to move your prospects from one campaign to another according to the actions. You set your basic sequence, on this one you will have openings, clicks, responses, etc... at the end of this sequence, a webhook is triggered and allows you to dispatch in other campaigns depending on the actions of your prospects, for example: Those who opened but did not do anything else you send them on a sequence especially for them, you have reached them but perhaps your offer did not correspond to them, so perhaps you have other things, more general to offer them Those who clicked but did not respond you send them on a new campaign specific to them. Etc.. etc...

And thanks to this end of campaign trigger you can also have those who have not opened at all (which basically does not trigger one of the classic webhook since -> no actions to detect), perhaps you have gone to spam, put them in a campaign with another sender ... to you have imagination! In any case, thanks to this complete automation you will be able to get your prospects into a long funnel that will allow you (at some point, perhaps far away) to convert them. On that note, I wish you a nice day and good prospecting!
