Smartlead alternatives compared: price and features
One row per tool from this page, Smartlead first for reference: who it suits, its entry price for the same need (cold email) and what it does. The sections below explain each choice.
Monthly prices, billed monthly unless stated, excluding VAT, read on each publisher’s site (checked between October 6, 2026 and October 14, 2026). Emelia’s prices follow your currency; tools billed in dollars only stay in dollars, and those billed in euros only stay in euros. –: not offered, or not checked for this need.
Best Smartlead alternatives, matched to the limit you hit
Each tool answers one Smartlead limit. Prices are entry prices from each publisher’s pricing page, excluding tax.
- 1
Best for: LinkedIn and email in one planCold email from 3, 50 or unlimited mailboxes and 1 to 10 LinkedIn accounts in the same sequences, with unlimited contacts and the API on every plan. Warm-up is included for every mailbox the plan connects, and it removes the second subscription Smartlead users take for LinkedIn.

- 2
Best for: another unlimited-mailbox senderThe closest tool to Smartlead: unlimited mailboxes, plans by sending volume and stored contacts, lead data sold as a separate credits subscription. No LinkedIn automation either. Switching from Smartlead mostly changes the interface and the add-ons, not the pricing logic.
- YesCold email from your own mailboxes
- YesMailbox warm-up included
- YesBuilt-in B2B contact database
- Price
- from $47/month
- Who it’s for
- Senders who like Smartlead’s volume model and want a close equivalent.

Best for: a built-in database and per-user LinkedInlemlist is the alternative for teams that want Smartlead’s sending plus data and LinkedIn: its Email plan is billed per team by volume, from 50,000 emails a month, and its contact database (650M+) is paid in credits. LinkedIn and calls come with Multichannel, billed per user, a channel Smartlead leaves to partner tools. Smartlead has agency features lemlist lacks: client spaces, and mailboxes it sells ready to send.

- YesCold email from your own mailboxes
- YesEmail and LinkedIn in one sequence
- Price
- from $69/month
- Who it’s for
- Teams that want a built-in database and LinkedIn steps, billed per user.
- 4
Best for: LinkedIn-first multichannelLa Growth Machine answers the limit Smartlead does not lift, LinkedIn: its sequences mix LinkedIn and email steps around a sender identity, with lead enrichment built in. It bills per identity, so the cost follows the number of salespeople rather than the emails sent, and calls arrive with the Pro plan. Each identity carries only a few email addresses, which suits a handful of senders more than Smartlead’s dozens of mailboxes.
- YesLinkedIn automation
- NoMailbox warm-up included
- YesCold email from your own mailboxes
- Price
- from $70/month
- Who it’s for
- A few salespeople who lead with LinkedIn and follow up by email.
- 5
Best for: email plus LinkedIn, per userReply.io adds what Smartlead lacks without leaving email behind: its Multichannel plan, billed per user, automates LinkedIn alongside email, with calls and SMS as an add-on. Its email-only plan is priced by the contacts reached each month, a different counter from Smartlead’s emails sent. Mailboxes follow a fair-use rule tied to those contacts, where Smartlead connects unlimited mailboxes on every plan.
- YesLinkedIn automation
- YesCold email from your own mailboxes
- YesEmail and LinkedIn in one sequence
- Price
- from $59 per user/month
- Who it’s for
- Teams that want LinkedIn and phone steps next to email, with per-user plans.
- 6
Best for: a LinkedIn add-on for SmartleadNot a replacement: a LinkedIn tool Smartlead connects through its SmartAgents, with an integration guide in its help center. Two tools, two subscriptions. It covers the channel Smartlead lacks, while the email side stays in Smartlead.
- YesLinkedIn automation
- NoCold email from your own mailboxes
- YesNative CRM integration
- Price
- from $79/month per LinkedIn account (Growth plan)
- Who it’s for
- Smartlead users adding LinkedIn outreach, on a second subscription.
When the missing piece is LinkedIn: one tool for both channels, or two subscriptions
Smartlead sends no LinkedIn invitations or messages itself: it hands them to HeyReach or Aimfox through its SmartAgents, or to Expandi, GetSales.io, Waalaxy through integrations. Each is a separate subscription, usually set up and billed on its own.
You then have two ways forward:
- One tool that runs both in one sequence. Emelia includes 1 LinkedIn account on Start, 3 on Grow and 10 on Scale (then $29 each). lemlist runs LinkedIn on its Multichannel plan at $109 per user per month; Reply.io’s Multichannel plan costs $99 per user with LinkedIn automation; La Growth Machine bills per sender identity.
- Smartlead for email, plus a LinkedIn tool. Two subscriptions and two places where a lead lives; HeyReach bills per LinkedIn account.
More than 2,000 or 30,000 stored contacts without the next plan
Smartlead counts every unique contact in the account, and that counter never resets: Base holds 2,000, Pro 30,000. Past that, you delete leads or move to Unlimited Smart at $174 a month, even if your sending volume has not changed. Smartlead’s home page says otherwise ("store unlimited leads"), but its pricing page, its pricing file and its help center all set these limits.
Emelia stores unlimited contacts on every plan, from $37. Instantly caps contacts too: 1,000 on Growth, 25,000 on Hypergrowth, 100,000 on Light Speed, so it does not solve this one.
An API and webhooks on the entry plan
Smartlead’s API and webhooks start at Pro ($94): Base has neither, so any automation that needs the API or webhooks starts at Pro.
Emelia includes its API and webhooks in every plan, Start included. lemlist documents an API limit of 20 requests every 2 seconds. Smartlead’s developer docs give rate-limit figures for two tiers without tying them to plans, and its help center leaves the answer to support.
A lead database first, sending second
SmartProspect, Smartlead’s database ("300M+" profiles), is included from Unlimited Smart; on Base and Pro it is a $59 monthly option. If finding contacts matters more than sending volume:
- Emelia extracts the leads of your LinkedIn and Sales Navigator searches and finds each one’s email (1 credit per email found and verified) and phone number (50 credits, refunded when no number is found). No built-in database.
- lemlist: "650M+" contacts, paid in credits (5 credits per email found and verified).
- Instantly: its lead database and AI agents come with a separate credits subscription, from $9 a month.
- Apollo: a database-first tool, with email sequences on top.
Another volume sender for agencies
Instantly uses the same model as Smartlead: unlimited mailboxes, Growth at $47 for 5,000 emails a month, Hypergrowth at $97 for 100,000+, Light Speed at $358 for 500,000. The detailed match-up is on Instantly vs Smartlead.
Saleshandy sells the same model with a database built in: unlimited mailboxes, Starter at $41 for 6,000 emails a month, Pro at $99 for 100,000, and 1,500 to 8,000 Lead Finder credits a month included in the plan instead of a SmartProspect option.
Smartlead sells client workspaces in white label ($29 per client from Pro on the pricing page). The pricing page charges for every workspace, even though Smartlead’s FAQ and its comparison with lemlist speak of one free client on Pro.
Before you leave Smartlead: export within 2 weeks, delete SmartSenders mailboxes
- Export first. Smartlead keeps your data 2 weeks after cancellation, then deletes it, with no extension.
- Cancel before the renewal. Base and Pro are cancelled in Settings, then Subscription; the plan runs until the end of the period. Custom plans go through support.
- Delete the mailboxes you bought. SmartSenders mailboxes are billed monthly until you delete them, separately from the plan. Domains are paid for a year and not refunded.
- Refunds. Smartlead publishes two rules: its help center refunds a new subscription in full within 7 days (3 after a renewal, if the account was not used), and its terms of service declare fees non-refundable. Under either one, you get nothing back for SmartProspect, servers, mailboxes and domains, tests, verification or calls.
Smartlead alternatives: frequently asked questions
Emelia answers three of Smartlead’s limits in one plan: LinkedIn in the same sequence as cold email, unlimited contacts and the API on every plan. Instantly works like Smartlead (unlimited mailboxes, plans by volume, capped contacts), and lemlist adds a contact database paid in credits, with LinkedIn on its per-user Multichannel plan.
Neither is better across the board: both offer unlimited mailboxes, bill by volume and cap stored contacts, and neither automates LinkedIn. The plan-by-plan comparison is on Instantly vs Smartlead.
Emelia (1 to 10 LinkedIn accounts included), lemlist on its Multichannel plan, Reply.io on its Multichannel plan and La Growth Machine. Smartlead itself relies on HeyReach or Aimfox.
At 3 mailboxes, about 2,700 to 4,500 emails a month: Emelia Start at $37, Smartlead Base at $39 and Instantly Growth at $47, billed monthly. Emelia’s plan also includes a LinkedIn account; Smartlead’s stores 2,000 contacts and Instantly’s 1,000.
