Is RocketReach legit? The company, its age and its users
Yes: RocketReach is a real product sold by RocketReach, LLC, a company founded in 2015 by Andrew Tso and Amit Shanbhag and run today by Scott Kim. It operates from Washington State, with addresses in Bellevue and Brooklyn, and it says it grew without outside funding. Its Chrome extension alone has 300,000 users.
What it sells is access to its database of professional contacts: you search for free, and you pay to reveal a person’s email or phone number. It claims 95% of the S&P 500 among its customers; that figure, like its user counts (13 to 30 million depending on the page), comes from RocketReach alone.
On the safety of your own account, RocketReach may ask a new user to verify both an email address and a phone number, and it says the details you register with stay confidential and never appear in search results. Payments go through Braintree, Stripe and PayPal, by card or PayPal.
Is it a scam, as some searches ask? It is a paid product with published plans, terms and a help centre; the grievances behind the low scores below are about billing and data quality.
RocketReach ratings on G2, Capterra, Trustpilot and the Chrome Web Store
G2 and Capterra block automated visits: their scores below come from search results, read on October 23, 2026. Trustpilot and the Chrome Web Store were read on their own pages.
Where it scores well
- Ease of use: 4.5 out of 5 on Capterra, its best sub-score
- Features: 4.1 on Capterra
- 4.4 on G2, from 1,370 reviews
Where it scores poorly
- Value for money: 3.7 on Capterra, its lowest sub-score
- Customer support: 3.9 on Capterra
- 39% of one-star reviews on Trustpilot
What reviewers praise, and what they report
Trustpilot: a split down the middle
The 1,115 Trustpilot reviews are polarised: 38% give five stars and 39% give one, with little in between (10%, 8% and 5% for four, three and two stars). Trustpilot notes that RocketReach “hasn’t replied to negative reviews”.
In the 20 most recent ones, posted between July 23, 2026 and October 22, 2026, the same complaints keep returning: subscriptions renewed or charged when the customer did not expect it, refunds turned down, support that does not resolve the problem, and contact details found to be wrong. Positive reviews are rare in that batch.
G2 and Capterra: kinder scores
Review platforms aimed at software buyers rate it far higher. Capterra’s sub-scores rank it best for ease of use and lowest for value for money, with support in between. On G2, the number of reviews has grown from one search snapshot to the next, to about 1,370.
Chrome Web Store: the extension is slipping
The extension stands at 3.3 from 460 ratings, where an earlier search snapshot showed 4.2 from 442. Its help article now says it no longer works on LinkedIn search pages or Sales Navigator lists, which it used to handle in bulk.
Reviews on credits and billing: renewals, refunds, lost lookups
Billing comes back often in the Trustpilot reviews. The rules behind it are written in RocketReach’s own terms and help centre:
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically, and a price change is announced by email and applied from the next term.
- Refunds: the subscription agreement excludes them “of any kind”. The single exception is a move from a yearly to a monthly plan within 7 days of the first purchase, never at renewal.
- Cancelling: possible at any time from the account or by email, effective at the end of the paid period; the remaining lookups are then lost, and not restored if you come back.
- Yearly plans: paid upfront; the year’s exports (1,200 to 20,000 depending on the plan) arrive at once and do not roll over.
Questions readers ask about RocketReach reviews
Reddit has no score to put in the table, so this page sticks to the review sites. Their recurring points are the ones above: billing, refunds and data accuracy on Trustpilot, ease of use on Capterra.
RocketReach’s help centre does not mention any alert sent to the person whose details you reveal. It does state that your own sign-up details remain confidential and are not shown in its search results.
Payment is handled by Braintree, Stripe and PayPal. The point to watch is the renewal: monthly and yearly plans renew on their own, and the subscription agreement excludes refunds once a term has been billed.
