Phone numbers: what one credit returns on each side
A RocketReach lookup unlocks a person’s emails and, on Pro and Ultimate, numbers, but does not promise the number. Lusha spends its phone credits on each number it reveals. An Emelia number is searched across several providers, and its 50 credits are refunded when none turns up. Same need below, one user, billed monthly.

Prices for RocketReach and Lusha are in US dollars and Emelia’s in your own currency: without an exchange rate, a row only names a winner that holds either way. The RocketReach column assumes every lookup returns a number, its best case. From a few hundred numbers a month, its single lookup per person works out cheaper on paper than paying each number separately, at Lusha (5 credits) or at Emelia (50), but no winner is ticked where RocketReach is ahead only in that best case: it charges a lookup that returns just an email all the same, and sells no monthly plan above 1,000 lookups. For emails, Emelia’s price per email is the lowest of the three.
Teams: a seat per person or a shared credit pot
RocketReach sells one licence per person, each with its own lookups (5% cheaper from two). Lusha includes 2 licences in Pro and 5 in Premium, sharing one pot of credits, then charges $49.90 a month per extra licence. Emelia counts no users.

What each free plan reveals
- RocketReach: a free account without a card, a few lookups (its own pages disagree on how many), emails only; phone numbers stay hidden until a paid Pro plan.
- Lusha: 40 credits a month for one user; at 5 credits a number, that is 8 phone numbers or 40 emails.
- Emelia: 7 days of free trial without a card, plus 20 credits with a work email, then credits from $19 a month.
Chrome extensions on LinkedIn and company sites
Both reveal contacts on a LinkedIn profile and beyond LinkedIn. RocketReach’s extension (300,000 users, 3.3 on the Chrome Web Store) reads most company websites, as Lusha’s does with its “Lusha Everywhere” setting, and opens in Chrome’s side panel, but has stopped loading LinkedIn searches and Sales Navigator lists. Lusha’s (400,000 users) works on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, Salesforce, HubSpot and Gmail, and saves Sales Navigator results 25 at a time.
Emelia’s extension finds a profile’s email and number with the same credits as the rest of the app, only when they are found, and drops the person into an Emelia campaign. In a Sales Navigator search, its “Export with Emelia” button hands the whole search to Emelia (see the extension).
Emelia: numbers by waterfall, credits refunded when nothing is found
Emelia asks several phone data providers in turn for each number. It reserves 50 credits per request and gives them back when no number is found, so you only pay for numbers you get: $0.950 each with the 1,000-credit pack, $0.250 with the largest one.
The same credits cover emails (1 each), stay valid 12 months even after you cancel, and are shared by the whole team. Then the contacts go into email and LinkedIn campaigns, which neither RocketReach nor Lusha automates on LinkedIn.
Lusha or RocketReach for phone-first prospecting
If calls come first, the difference is the unit. RocketReach includes the number in a lookup at no extra charge, from Pro, but a lookup can come back with an email only. Lusha charges every number it reveals (5 credits), a cost that adds up as the number of calls grows.
Both send sequences from the user’s own Gmail or Outlook mailbox and both bill in dollars. The real split is the team: one balance per user at RocketReach, one shared pot at Lusha.
Hunter, and the cost of each contact
Hunter works differently from both: it finds emails from a company’s domain and does not search for phone numbers. Its Starter plan gives the whole team 2,000 credits a month for $49, with no licence per user. Our RocketReach alternatives page sets it against the others.
For emails, at 1,000 a month: Emelia comes to $0.019 an email, Lusha to $0.115 and RocketReach to $0.209. For phone numbers, it depends on the volume and on how often RocketReach’s lookup actually returns a number; the table above gives each case.
