Dropcontact accuracy: how each address is tested before a credit is billed
People ask about Dropcontact’s success rate and accuracy rate. Its own pages quote several figures, and they do not agree with one another, so this section describes the method rather than repeating a rate.
Candidates checked on the company’s mail server
You give a first name, a last name and a company (or a full name and a company, a LinkedIn profile URL, or an address to check). Dropcontact builds the likely address formats and tests them against the company’s mail servers, which is why a single search can take up to 2 minutes. It does not need the company website; a company on its own, with no person, cannot be enriched.
Each email that comes back carries a qualification; the main ones are:
- nominative@pro: an address in the person’s name, accepted by the server;
- catch_all@pro: a domain set to accept any address, where the server answers yes for every name;
- generic@pro: a shared address of the contact@ or sales@ kind.
What a credit pays for, and the pages that disagree
The help centre says a credit is charged only when a verified email is returned, or when you send an address for verification alone: 1 credit either way. A file reserves credits when you upload it and gives back those of the emails not found at the end. Dropcontact’s French terms of service count a unit per search instead, each duplicate line as a separate one, and as late as August 2026 the FAQ data of its pricing page still read “Credits are consumed regardless of the result”.
On rates, Dropcontact publishes a benchmark of 15 tools on 20,000 contacts, last updated in February 2026; it ran and paid for that study itself. Coverage depends on your list: it works on business addresses only, never Gmail or Outlook, and its help centre says results are weaker for companies in regions that use non-Latin scripts.
On review sites, Dropcontact is rated 4.6 out of 5 on G2 (48 reviews) and 4.7 on Capterra (23), as shown in search results on October 19, 2026; it has no Trustpilot page.
Emelia bills the same way: 1 credit per email found, verification included, nothing when none is found. Checking a list you bring from elsewhere costs 0.25 credit an address.
The Dropcontact Google Sheets add-on, in place of a Chrome extension
Dropcontact’s only browser module lives in Google Sheets. There is no Dropcontact Chrome extension: none on its site and none on the Chrome Web Store when we searched on October 19, 2026.
The add-on is listed on the Google Workspace Marketplace under the name “Dropcontact”. You connect it with your API key, select the first name, last name and company columns, and it writes the email and the other fields into new columns. It draws on the same credits as the subscription, from Starter up; the listing shows a rating of 5 out of 5 and an update dated April 21, 2026.
Dropcontact’s page about the add-on promises 50 free lines and 25 free searches a month, while its pricing page and help centre speak of 50 free credits at sign-up and nothing monthly. Nothing happens on LinkedIn either: its help centre says no LinkedIn account is needed and points to PhantomBuster, Waalaxy and Captain Data to build the list first.
Emelia works the other way round, from the browser. On a LinkedIn profile, its Chrome extension finds the person’s email and mobile number, charged in credits only when found, then adds them to an email or LinkedIn campaign; in a Sales Navigator search, the “Export with Emelia” button sends the whole search to Emelia.
Dropcontact API documentation: one endpoint, webhooks and an MCP server
The documentation at developer.dropcontact.com is open without an account, and an API key comes with the free account. Every paid plan includes the API and the MCP server.
One asynchronous endpoint
Enrichment goes through a single route: you post a batch of contacts, get a request ID back, and fetch the results once they are ready (the API answers “try again” while it works), or receive them on a webhook. Each call is authenticated by a token in its header.
- Batch size: up to 250 contacts per request, 15 KB per contact.
- Rate: 60 requests a second; beyond that, calls are refused with an error.
- Fields returned: civility, names, qualified emails, phone, company, website, LinkedIn, and for French companies SIREN, SIRET, VAT number and NAF code; industry and headcount only on the trial or Growth.
- Credits: checking your balance is free; asking for results before a batch has finished can lose the refund of the contacts still in progress.
MCP server and no-code tools
A hosted MCP server, reached with OAuth or the API key, lets an AI assistant such as Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT enrich a contact or validate an email; Dropcontact says it was the first email finder to offer one. Without code, it plugs into Zapier, Make and n8n, and Clay lists it as one of the providers of its work email waterfall.
What these calls cost, plan by plan, is on the Dropcontact pricing page.
What Dropcontact email enrichment adds beyond the address
What is Dropcontact, in a sentence: an enrichment tool, not a database. Its help centre is blunt about it: Dropcontact does not sell leads, so you build the list first and it completes each line.
About the person and the company
- The person: civility, corrected first and last name, qualified email, LinkedIn profile and cleaned job title, plus seniority and function from an AI classification on Growth.
- The company: company phone (switchboard), website, company LinkedIn page, industry and headcount.
- French companies: SIREN, SIRET, VAT number, NAF code, head office address, director, revenue and net income.
Included, or reserved for Growth?
The help centre lists company information as included for free with every enriched contact; the pricing page puts “company data enrichment” among what Growth adds, and the API keeps industry and headcount for the trial and Growth. The phone number is the company’s switchboard, not the person’s mobile; the FAQ below explains why the answer is not that simple. Emelia’s finder returns the person’s email and, for 50 credits, their mobile number, found through a waterfall of providers.
Dropcontact integrations: HubSpot and Pipedrive on a separate, quoted plan
The file and API plans stop at your spreadsheet. Inside a CRM, Dropcontact sells a second product, with its own contract.
In HubSpot and Pipedrive, the CRM plan enriches and cleans records, detects and merges duplicates, and keeps contacts up to date as people change company; Salesforce and Zoho are announced as coming soon, although the pricing page FAQ already lists Salesforce. It is billed yearly, with set-up fees and licences sized on your CRM, for a 12-month term that renews itself, and its price is now on quote only: as late as January 2026, a public grid priced 1,000 contacts at €56 of set-up plus €24 a month. Credits bought for files cannot be spent in the CRM.
A free trial runs without a card, on contacts whose first name starts with A, B, C or D: 14 days according to the help centre, 7 according to the terms. Beyond CRMs, Dropcontact connects to list builders (Surfe, PhantomBuster, Captain Data and Evaboot) and to cold email tools such as QuickMail and SmartReach. Emelia connects one CRM on Start and Grow and several on Scale, in the same plans that send the campaigns.
Emails found each month: Dropcontact tiers next to Emelia’s credit packs
The same need on both sides: emails found each month, billed monthly. Dropcontact sells nothing but credits, so it faces Emelia’s credit subscription on its own, which needs no sending plan. Both count 1 credit per email found and nothing otherwise.

Prices before VAT. Dropcontact bills in euros only, while Emelia’s prices follow your currency: the two are shown side by side, with no difference calculated. Growth, Dropcontact’s plan where credits carry over, costs 21% to 63% more than Starter for the same credits.
Dropcontact alternatives: other ways to find and verify B2B emails
Most of the tools below sell a found email by the credit, Kaspr by the licence; some add phone numbers, a database or the campaign itself. FullEnrich and Wiza are two more enrichment tools in the same field.
Monthly prices, billed monthly unless stated, excluding VAT, read on each publisher’s site (checked between October 8, 2026 and October 19, 2026). Emelia’s prices follow your currency; tools billed in dollars only stay in dollars, and those billed in euros only stay in euros. –: not offered, or not checked for this need.

Best for: Finding emails and mobiles, then sending the campaignEmelia sells the same kind of credit, 1 per email found and nothing otherwise, from $19 a month for 1,000, with credits valid 12 months even after cancelling. It also looks up the person’s mobile number, which Dropcontact leaves out, and checks imported lists at 0.25 credit an address. The email and LinkedIn sequence then leaves from the same account.

Starter costs $49 a month for 2,000 credits shared by the whole team, with 3 mailboxes for its own campaigns, and a free plan of 50 credits. Like Dropcontact, it has no phone finder.

Best for: Emails and mobiles from LinkedIn profiles
Kaspr works on LinkedIn itself, through a Chrome extension that shows emails and mobile numbers on a profile, while Dropcontact waits for a list (LinkedIn URLs included). Starter costs $65 per licence a month, with B2B emails under fair use and 100 phone credits. It is priced per licence rather than per email, and its credits are lost when you cancel.

Starter or Growth: what each Dropcontact plan includes
Starter starts at €29 a month for 500 credits and goes up to 150,000; it covers files, the API, the MCP server and the Sheets add-on, but its credits reset at each renewal. Growth, from €35, adds the carry-over of credits, LinkedIn enrichment, job titles and company data, for 21% to 63% more at the same volume. Every tier, the yearly price and the price history are on the Dropcontact pricing page.
Company, mobile numbers, logo and free credits
Dropcontact SAS, created on November 10, 2016, registered in Aulnay-sous-Bois according to its terms and the French company register (the structured data of its home page gives Station F in Paris). Its founder and CEO is Denis Cohen. The register lists 10 to 19 employees in 2024 and, for that year, revenue of €2,575,351; the company claims 3,500+ customers.
Not on the file and API plans, according to its help centre, which lists personal mobile numbers among what Dropcontact does not provide and returns the company’s switchboard instead. Two other sources say otherwise: the CRM box on its pricing page announces mobile numbers taken from email signatures, and the API documentation has a mobile phone field. Emelia looks up the person’s mobile through a waterfall of providers, for 50 credits refunded when none is found.
Yes: the dark version, a green round icon next to the word “dropcontact” in dark grey, is the SVG file in the navigation bar of dropcontact.com, and a white version for dark backgrounds sits in its footer.
50 credits when you create an account, without a card, once; there is no permanent free plan, and the Google Sheets page mentions a different allowance (50 lines and 25 searches a month). Emelia gives 20 credits at sign-up with a work email and a 7-day trial without a card. The pricing page details what comes after.
